Don’t we all have misguided (new agey) thinking regarding this one who gave his all for us?
In establishing the right (perfect) theology we then often turn it on those who do not measure up in how perfectly we see things, so we then exclude them until they are much more enlightened. What a load of pure shit this is!
Apart from Him we’re all so totally fucked screwed up and the thing is we’re quick to see that and think it of others, and hold it against them, ouch.
Just imagine that God wouldn’t so love the world until we got our stinking thinking out of the way, ha.
I find it truly amazing learning to live loved and the security that brings into our ability to see way past what and where others have like us imbibed from mind altering perceptions of reality. As we lovingly embrace them, we dignify and validate their worth by simply being available to them, not shaking our heads in dismay as in, how stupid they are and how complicated they keep making life.
Thing is, the fear mongers will label us as being “new-age” or even worse, I guess that puts us in great company with the Christ that was vilified as one who kept company with “sinners!”
Today at work I had one of those totally serendipitous encounters, I was sitting down to kill some time before heading out to finish up my day when my boss came in before leaving to go home.
He started talking and sharing with me his recent holiday to Boston which was a huge birthday surprise his loving wife had cooked up to celebrate his 40th birthday. As he went on and on, I lost track of time and was suddenly swept up in seeing this amazing time he had through his exuding passion.
I felt so privileged just being allowed into his life to see and hear how Father had abundantly blessed him, thing is, his theological stance didn’t once cloud our mutually enjoyable togetherness.
I hate it when seeing in me or in others this mind set that totally forgets that it was His amazing grace that brought the first whiffs of sobriety that continues to lead us out of the maze of clouded and badly mucked up stinking thinking.
Rich
Oy, such coarse language. Do I need to contact the blog police? Bro, I so appreciate your relentless passion for His truth to be told, to have the veils of our eyes removed that we might see. You know my own wrestlings well, my own life’s frustrations, but also my passion for living this Life of Christ in me, in you, in all who believe.
He is either that Life or, as I’ve heard you say, this is some really bad joke.
I feel the same way Rich! If we can just put all of that foolishness behind us and love and share in delight with others who may not agree with us. Its simple really, but oh so hard at the same time…
And I just have to make a comment about what Dave said, HA! Does the blogger police have the authority to come over to wordpress? Just fooling around 🙂 I love coarse language, wait, did I just say that outloud?! More importantly, I love the realness behind the coarse language, and btw Rich, how did you make a line go through the f-bomb? I love that!
Dave,
Its amazing how we know say in cooking how to prepare a meal we have made many times over, we usually won’t deviate to far from including all of the prescribed spices etc, so that the flavor and taste are just right.
To leave one or more of those components, would we be actually surprised at the awful taste?
How much more so are we totally unskilled in knowing how all of the spices of what we are faced with and going through are adding a flavor to our lives that would be missed if we said, Father, none of this in my life PLEASE!
Hmmm, taste and see how good it is.
Nicole,
Everyday is a new day of discovering that God really means it when he says, “He loves me/us.”
As that takes root in our hearts we find not only His grace, but a graciousness that knows no limits toward us in our predicaments.
Its the graciousness of His grace that slowly sets into motion an ability to simply love people for who and where they are in their own journey.
Regarding the stroked line through the F bomb, its all part of how Word Press is designed to do that, I love that feature 🙂
