Our perception of what we think we’re seeing, feeling, or experiencing, may in fact be so very far removed from what is really true. Case in point, here are some quotes from the movie The Matrix:
“What is “real”? How do you define “real”?” Morpheus: How did I beat you?
Neo: You… you’re too fast.
Morpheus: Do you believe that my being stronger or faster has anything to do with my muscles in this place? Do you think that’s air you’re breathing now? Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world? Welcome to the real world. If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then ‘real’ is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

As I have shared in many different ways on my blogs, we have all (in my opinion) been stamped with a bummer of a birth mark. Not one of us has escaped unmarked! The deeply engraved and imprinted message that weaves and filters through everything we do is laced with a cancer- like fog endeavouring to convince us of one thing; “I AM NOT.”

Psycho-babble would convince us that there are two kinds of people in the world – those with a good self-image/healthy self-esteem, and those with a poor self-image/self-esteem. The former tend to think of themselves as being a quantum-leap cut above the latter. What garbage! If the enemy of your soul can’t convince you you’re a worthless loser, then he’ll convince you that in your lovely wholeness you don’t need God whatsoever (a.k.a. self-righteousness). The concepts of self-esteem and self-worth are meaningless labels attached to an endless pursuit of shadow-boxing, trying at best to alter one’s view of him/herself from the outside in, a form psychological botox.
When I talk about none of us escaping the internal scarring, disfiguring by virtue of the fact that we have been born into the human stream is because, if there are any exceptions (and there are none) then the need for the Father’s love and grace is primarily for the losers, the rejects and the sickos – but isn’t that great news? Jesus came for the sick – and for those who know in their heart of hearts they’re hopelessly lost. I see this sickness being dyslexic and anorexic in the soul, unable to distinguish or decipher the truth of what God the father really has to say about us.

It appears to me right now in this season of my life that many things are culminating and coming to a head, and all of it is directly interrelated with knowing the truth, slowly seeing with ever increasing clarity what life looks like apart from living way too long seeing it through a shattered windshield.

If there is any true confidence and assurance beginning to take form within me, it has to be something far removed and coming to me from a source much deeper than me having a great gene pool.
I cannot separate what is birthed in us of the spirit of God apart from that which is inseparable from great meekness and humility. As I was thinking about this, I was reminded of scriptures that compare Adam as a ‘natural’ man with the last Adam (Christ Jesus) being the ‘life- quickening man’. I also was pondering about why God didn’t choose Ishmael instead of Isaac – perhaps it was because the first son had been born out of fleshly effort and Isaac had been the promised son as a result of God’s doing.

As I am learning to let the Father of my spirit love me and to integrate who and what He is within every aspect of my being, out of the fractured and shattered pieces of what used to define me is coming forth a manifest son of God.

There’s a kids song that goes like this; This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine~
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.
Don’t let Satan blow it out,
I’m gonna let it shine
Don’t let Satan blow it out,
I’m gonna let it shine
Don’t let Satan blow it out,
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.

The truth is that from before the foundations of the earth, there’s been a search and rescue team (Father, Son and Spirit) set upon finding and rescuing those who are lost, lost to the knowledge that God the Father loves us!
Because there are no natural vacuums, not knowing or experiencing the growing unfolding reality of how loved we are, the lies become to us the natural language we become stepped in, and when the liar (Satan) speaks we readily agree with him.
I’ve spoken of this before with these thoughts, Bummer of a Birthmark.

For most believers in Christ we have lived a life of continuing lies, in many cases long after the re-birthing took place. Without discovering the awesome breath taking wonder and beauty of His love, we define ourselves according to the inner birthmark of, “I am not.”
What makes someone like Tim Tebow, or Justin Beiber for example so special, and appearing to have a much superior degree of God’s favour upon their lives?
The only thing that fits the criteria of being special is that God so loves this world that He gave his only Son for all who are born into it. Without knowing this total unconditional special love for each of us, we will out of necessity engage in trying to carve out by our own self-effort what God wants to freely give us, that which we crave, that which is a huge part of how we were initially wired.

His love is unique and special to and for each and every one of us, and as we respond to this love that is abounding with life, out of our core, that same love and life will endeavour to touch all those we cross paths with craving what we have freely received.

I was reading an interesting article about Lake Vostok one of many fresh water lakes discovered in Antarctica. Lake Vostok is presumed to be up to 3,000 feet deep, here is what I so loved; Most people are amazed to find that a lake of liquid fresh water lies beneath the Antarctic ice. In fact, 145 such lakes have so far been discovered. The lakes remain liquid only because the water is pressurized by the immense weight of the ice above, lowering the freeze temperature to 30 degrees. Residual heat from the earth’s core adds the few precious degrees needed to keep the water from freezing. That in itself is not the most amazing thing about Lake Vostok, however. It appears that Lake Vostok has been isolated from the atmosphere and any possibility of contamination for up to two million years! This opens the possibility of scientific exploration in an environment uncontaminated by any event in recent global history.

What spoke to me is this; if in fact we have Christ living in us as us, Christ the hope of glory, then there must be at our core a God generated heat, a fire as it were, as He is referred to as a consuming fire, and I see that fire being a love with such intensity that nothing can or could ever stand in its way except for the lies we choose to believe in.
I believe the truth being a person said, if you continue to follow me, you will know the truth, and the Truth will set (make) you free. It is so profoundly simple much like the children’s song I pointed out in beginning with my thoughts, all we need do is to ask God to make him-self known to us, and in so doing to our utter amazement we will discover how very loved we actually are, and there will never ever be any reason to hide under a bushel what has and is making us so very special.
